The Whitings, as well as loving and writing poetry, also wrote a considerable amount of prose.  During the 1930's and 1940's my grandmother, Frances B. Kirschner (or simply F.B.K., as she often signed her work) wrote a column, Dishwater Reflections for the Spring Valley Sun, a weekly newspaper from Spring Valley, Wisconsin.
